
Neil Orman worked as a journalist for 10 years before entering New York University's graduate film program in 2005. He's now in his fifth year and preparing to shoot his thesis this spring. His shorts include Sabor Madrileño, winner of the 2009 "Madrid Dares You" short film contest; Pals, an official selection in the Asheville Film Festival; Dotcommies Revisited and Loobey's Cocoon. A Houston native, Neil is the son of an English teacher mom and physician dad. He earned bachelor degrees in history and journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. He was a reporter and editor for business journals in Austin, San Jose and Minneapolis-St. Paul; and earned a Masters in Business Administration from UT-Austin. Neil lives in New York with his wife Bertha and baby John Alfonso.
